# Authenticate

Your private keys are encrypted and stored locally and never leave your local machine. It is important to set a complex enough password when registering and write it down somewhere to not forget it. Your password is not recoverable if you forget it.

## First time use

When booting up the app for the first time, you can either continue as a regular user (0.4% fees) or enter your license key for premium access (0% fees).

After onboarding, you will be prompted to set a password. Make sure to enter a strong password and remember it. You will need to login using this password in the future.

When successfully registered, you will be automatically logged in and can start using the app.

## Logging in

After registering, the next times you start up the app it will ask you for the password you've set while registering. After successfully logging in you can start using the app.
